My name is Ellie Bane. I am from Centerville, Indiana.
I am currently a sophomore at Purdue University. I am majoring in Elementary Education and I am creating this website for my EDCI 270 class. After I graduate I want to work in an elementary school as a kindergarten teacher.
My senior year of high school, I was a cadet teacher in a Kindergarten classroom. I worked with a classroom of students every other day for about 3 hours. It was an awesome experience because I got to go into the classroom and I was not a "teacher helper" I actually got to work with the students.
My freshman year at Purdue, I was put into Burnett Creek for my block 1 field experience. I was in a second grade classroom, and it was an awesome experience. I got to go once a week and work with the students in the classroom on writing workshops and reading workshops.
My first semester of my sophomore year, I was put into Mintonye Elementary for my block 2 field experience. I was in a music class so I had different grades, I had 3 fourth grade classes and 2 second grade classes.
I would love to be a teacher because when I was in the classroom I witnessed so many children that were wanting to learn. They were anxious to know how things happened and they always asked "why?" I want to make a difference in students and get them started on their education journey! :)
